International Coordinators around the U.S. are the faces of Aspect Foundation. They work part-time in their home communities to find and recruit loving host families, place exchange students in local homes and high schools, and provide fun and supportive exchange experiences for all.

International Student Affairs Intern
Internship

Position Description: The International Student Affairs Intern assists with evaluating and screening high school applicants from approximately 30 countries. The intern reads applications and corresponds with Aspect’s overseas offices via fax and email to obtain clarification regarding cultural, linguistic and technical ambiguities in applications. The intern will work with the Admissions Staff to obtain proper documentation for various steps of the student application process.

Qualifications: Excellent English language abilities, both spoken and written. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Computer proficiency and general office skills required. Maturity, self-motivation and a desire to work in the field of student affairs or international relations. Graduate level preferred; mature undergraduate considered.

Commitment: Minimum six weeks. 16 hrs/week at our San Francisco, CA headquarters. Hours negotiable.

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship, though Aspect Foundation provides a stipend for local transportation to and from the office. Academic credit is negotiable. Successful candidates in this position may also have the opportunity for further career advancement within our network.

Publicity & Journalism Intern

Position Description: The Publicity & Journalism Intern has the opportunity to participate in the marketing and publicity operations of a busy non-profit student exchange organization. Duties include writing press releases for local and national media, identifying feature story opportunities on exchange students and host families, and writing stories for media outlets, the Aspect blog and social media platforms. Previous Aspect interns have had the opportunity to be published with bylines.

Requirements: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and meet deadlines are important. Basic computer skills are required. Experience with writing for social media and graphic design experience a plus.

Grant Writing and Research Intern

Position Description: The Grant Writing/Research Intern will assist in the application process for various non-profit grant and funding opportunities. Responsibilities include researching grant-making foundations and corporations, writing query letters to grant-makers, and developing, writing and submitting grant proposals to finance specific Aspect Foundation initiatives.

Requirements: Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated strong writing skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Basic computer skills are required. An interest in international education and understanding of grant-writing are preferred.
