Dominican Republic | Global Health Initiative

Capital: Santo Domingo  |  Population: 10.4 million

Although it is hard for many of us to imagine, there are areas of the Dominican Republic in which no formal health care system exists. On this program, you’ll learn about sustainable solutions to human security problems and explore the impact of cultural, political, economic and environmental systems on the health of rural communities. Gain hands-on clinical experience while exploring the tropical countryside.
